Golf Tournament scheduled for Sept. 16

Thursday, August 29, 2013

Bishop Kevin J. Farrell and Dave Klaudt, a board member for the 2013 Bishop Farrell Invitational Golf tournament, display the Farrell Cup Challenge trophy, donated by Doug and Vicky Lattner, which will be awarded to the winning parish team during the Sept. 16 event at the TPC-Four Seasons Resort and Club and Cottonwood Valley in Irving. Registration for the third annual Bishop Farrell Invitational Golf Tournament is nearing a capacity field of 240 golfers. All proceeds from the Sept. 16 event will provide immediate tuition assistance for students in Catholic schools in the Diocese of Dallas.

Whether a golfer or not, supporters can participate in the record-setting event by becoming a sponsor.  Visit www.bishopfarrellgolf.org or call 214-379-2823 for information.

This year’s tourney will be played at a new location, the TPC/Cottonwood Valley Courses at the Las Colinas Four Seasons Resort and Club in Irving.

Also new this year is the Farrell Cup Challenge, a competition that features foursomes from parishes throughout the Diocese of Dallas playing the Cottonwood Valley course to take home bragging rights and a trophy.

In addition, an auction at the post day-of-play reception will feature the following items:
•    Day of golf for three players, Bishop Farrell and PGA champion Lee Trevino
•    Signed and framed piece containing three Masters Flags:  One signed by Arnold Palmer, another signed by Jack Nicklaus and one with the hard-to- get Tiger Woods’ autograph
•    Day at the NASCAR races at the Texas Motor Speedway
